At the same time, I try my best to incorporate cultural elements with Chinese characteristics into my oil paintings to express my ideas, which has become the mainstream of current Chinese figurative oil paintings.

In the art exhibition, there are representational oil paintings and image oil paintings, and most of the works have a strong sense of scene, reality and contemporary sense. When talking about his views on contemporary art, Fan Dian said: "In terms of connotation, contemporary art mainly refers to the art with modern spirit and modern language. Contemporary art reflects not only modernity, but also the contemporary feeling of artists based on social life. Artists are in today's cultural environment, facing today's reality, their works must reflect the characteristics of today's times." The works express the creator's own feelings, which not only have the ordinary life state, but also have poetic content. These are things that come from life, the painter and the viewer. These things are vivid, natural and resonate with people, which is refined and summarized in the painter's pen. The author's attention does not simply stay on the observation of "thing", but puts consciousness on the perception of "thing", which is the sublimation of feeling. The "unity of nature and man" emphasized in Chinese painting is the embodiment of the concept of equality. The author believes that this kind of equality is not only reflected in the equality between people, but also in the equality between people and nature, the equality between the painter and the object. This concept is well reflected in dealing with the relationship between "man" and "nature" as well as between painter and object. For the Chinese, the process of painting is the transformation process from objective objects to subjective images and then to artistic images. The painter and the object are in a harmonious state of unity and integration. This is sketching.

In sketching, painters usually have two misunderstandings: one is to simply understand sketching as the collection and objective representation of materials. In fact, sketching is not only a process of collecting materials, but also a process of perceiving and experiencing objective objects. If we simply use it as a process of collecting materials, there will be a separation of subject and object when painting. The reason for this phenomenon is that the subject of painting ignores the existence of the subject of painting when sketching, and sketching becomes a simple copying process. In today's advanced technology, this process can be completely replaced by cameras. The second situation is because the painter did not carefully analyze and observe the objective objects during the creation, but only relied on personal experience and imagination, ignoring the observation and understanding of the objective things. Such sketching is often extremely subjective in the picture, making people difficult to understand.

The process of painting is not a simple process of sorting out objective things, but a creative process in which one's own understanding of things is made after choosing objective things in one's heart, with certain subjective factors. This process not only has respect for nature, but also has the subject's understanding of the object. It is often said that painting is a process of coordination between the heart, the eye and the hand. Only when you have something in your heart can you "see" and only when your hand "follows". And "have in mind", requires the painter to observe things carefully.

Generally speaking, the correct grasp of the relationship between subjective and objective is the painter should think about when sketching. And the process of feeling the object is the process of solving this relationship. Through the feeling, the painter can remove the false from the nature, to rough and precise performance of the characteristics of the object.
