汪章雁,笔名南雁,1963年10月出生,汉族,籍贯铜陵,定居南京,为中国书画文化发展促进会会员、“十五五”文化强国高峰攀登工程艺坛领军人物、《中国艺术发展研究报告(蓝皮书)》荣誉主编。他崇尚“艺术来源于生活却高于生活”理念和“道法之然”信条,认为“师古人是基础,师造化才能创新”,注重深入社会生活开展艺术创作,其艺术创作路径真正践行了“画为心迹”的艺术本质,是中国水墨画创新实践的成功探索者之一。

Wang Zhangyan, pen name Nan Yan, was born in October 1963, of Han ethnicity, originally from Tongling and now residing in Nanjing. He is a member of the China Calligraphy and Painting Culture Development Promotion Association, a leading figure in the art circle of the "15th Five-Year Plan" Cultural Power Summit Climbing Project, and the honorary editor-in-chief of the "China Art Development Research Report (Blue Book)". He advocates the philosophy that "art originates from life but transcends it" and the creed of "following the natural way", believing that "learning from ancient masters is fundamental, while learning from nature enables innovation". He emphasizes engaging deeply with social life to conduct artistic creation, and his creative approach truly embodies the artistic essence of "painting as a reflection of the heart", making him one of the successful explorers of innovative practices in Chinese ink painting.

The shrimps in his works have a gentle yet powerful appearance, with their antennae swaying gracefully, as if the water is flowing. The shrimps call and respond to each other, enjoying a carefree and contented state. The crabs in his paintings have a thick ink color and a rustic charm. His work "Shrimp Playing" participated in the Sino-Korean ink painting cultural exchange and was collected by Kyunghee University in South Korea and awarded the title of "Visiting Scholar"; "Nuoxian Town" won the first prize in the global outstanding art works competition of the 2025-2026 World Intangible Cultural Heritage Conference in the adult painting category and was awarded the title of "World Intangible Cultural Heritage Holder"; "Harmony and Coexistence" won the first prize in the 2025 National Silver Age Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition of Rongbaozi and was also awarded the title of "World Intangible Cultural Heritage Holder"; in addition, many of his works have won first prizes and special awards in other domestic competitions. His artistic achievements have been widely recognized in the industry. Works by him have been introduced and published on various multimedia media such as the WeMedia platform of People's Daily, the half-monthly magazine "Zhonghua Yingyuan", "Reader", Sohu, etc., and have been included in "Rongbaozi (Annual Edition)", "World Masters", "World Art Collection Dictionary", "Eastern Painting • Overseas University Collection", and are also collected by overseas universities such as North-Western University in Thailand, Chiang Mai University, and Royal University of Phrae. The author has been appointed as a visiting professor.
