Su Hongqing is a national first-class artist, member of the Chinese Art Committee of the Oriental Culture Research Association of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, expert in calligraphy and painting, tutor of advanced research classes of calligraphy and painting in Beijing Normal University, invited tutor of advanced research classes of calligraphy and painting in Peking University, Tsinghua University and Renmin University, visiting professor of Central Academy of Fine Arts, professor of vice president of Beijing Humanities College, researcher of Great Wall Academy of Calligraphy and Painting;Visiting Professor, School of Digital Media, College of Resources, Peking University; Professor, School of Continuing Education, Beijing Technology and Business University; Invited Editorial Board Member of Chinese Oil Painting Collection.He once served as the executive vice president of the Art College of Beijing Humanities University and presided over the overall work; the art director of animation music of CCTV Youth Channel; the vice president of the Calligraphy and Painting Art Research Institute of Hubei Cultural and Art Exchange Association.

Born in Gongan County, Hubei Province in 1964.Under the influence of his father, he began to practice calligraphy and painting at the age of 5.He was taught by Hu Shizhong, Feng Fasi, Li Jun and Zhang Ken.He studied at the Central Academy of Fine Arts and Beijing Normal University (PhD).Many of his works have been published in Britain, France, Singapore, China and "Famous Beijing", "Color College Entrance Examination", "Selected Works of Contemporary Chinese Celebrities", "Special Issue of the National Art Museum of China"and"Collection of Works of Art in Shengtian Pavilion".Collection, collection, distribution and special introduction of the Stamp Album of Contemporary Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Artists by the Military Museum of the Second Artillery Command of China, CCTV Calligraphy and Painting Channel.

In July 2007, the oil painting "Flower. Swan Lake Prelude" won the gold medal for the works of famous contemporary Chinese calligraphers and painters.In 2009, he won the top 500 Chinese outstanding artists in the list of calligraphy and painting.

In 2016, he was awarded the honorary title of "Chinese Model Loving Artist" in Beijing (sponsored by the Central Committee of the League).
