The 16-year-old technology entrepreneurship boy won the UNIDO Z-Carbon Outstanding Youth Award

Tang Yingxi, a student member of IEEE and the International Department of Beijing No. 35 High School, won the UNIDO Global Zero Carbon City Innovation Pioneer Award Outstanding Youth at the just-concluded Sixth United Nations Industrial Development Organization Global Technology Innovation Conference on December 10, 2022, at the Zhangjiang Science Hall in Shanghai, China. He won the award for projects related to sustainable energy. It is known that he has published one SCI paper as an independent first author, in addition to the IEEE and SCI newly accepted papers.

In his first year of high school, Tang Yingxi was selected by the “National Talent Pool Project (Ying Cai Ji Hua Project for middle school students' scientific and technological innovation reserve talents)” to join the State Key Laboratory of Network and Switching Technology of Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications. He was engaged in the research of "AI in space" with his professor and won the global first prize of the "2022 Science and Innovation Business Plan Competition" held by SparkX, the first scientific and technological entrepreneurship community for scholars in London and Doctorate Association Incubator. The project was selected as the global semifinal of the Tsinghua University I-AIIG and UNDP AI4SDGs U&AI Artificial Intelligence Competition. In his second year of high school, he was selected as the first class of “The Program for Young Scholars in Math and Science”, sponsored by Tencent and led by academicians and scientists of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, which is a non-profit project for the cultivation of scientific talents who will change the world.

The Global Science and Technology Innovation Conference is co-organized by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, United Nations Institute for Training and Research, World Design Organization, China Association for the Promotion of International Science and Technology, China Association of Small and Medium Enterprises, China Electronics Chamber, Zhangjiang Group and other organizations.
