Wang Yuanxing (1910-1974), also known as Jianchu and chaolan, was born in Longyan, Fujian Province. In the spring of 1926, at the age of 16, Wang Yuanxing left his hometown and traveled to Nanyang alone. Later, he met Chen Jiageng, a famous patriotic overseas Chinese leader and founder of Xiamen University, in Singapore, and became a "lifelong friend". After that, under the guidance of Tan Kah Kee, he founded Xingju industry, which had a great influence on the local overseas Chinese community. After the outbreak of the Anti Japanese War, Wang Yuanxing, with full of patriotic enthusiasm, actively followed Chen Jiageng to participate in overseas rescue activities, donated money and materials for the Anti Japanese War, and made indelible contributions to the great victory of the motherland's resistance against aggression.
At the beginning of the founding of new China, under the economic blockade of western countries, Wang Yuanxing took the lead in responding to the call of the motherland and put all his overseas assets into the construction of the motherland. In 1951, he cooperated with Huang Jie and other overseas Chinese in Southeast Asia with the Department of industry of Guangdong Province to establish a public private joint venture overseas Chinese industrial construction company. Wang Yuanxing served as the vice chairman of the board. This was the first Sino foreign joint venture and overseas Chinese funded enterprise in New China, under which many factories were urgently needed by the national economy and the people's livelihood. He is also responsible for the construction of new overseas Chinese villages, donating money to establish Guangzhou Overseas Chinese primary school, and concurrently serves as the chairman of the board.
After the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Indonesia, Wang Yuanxing, together with the local overseas Chinese leaders, invested in the purchase of a villa, which was presented to the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia as a building.
After returning to China, Wang Yuanxing served as a member of the overseas Chinese Affairs Committee of the Central People's government, vice chairman of the all China Federation of overseas Chinese, vice chairman of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Chinese people's Political Consultative Conference, and deputy to the second and third National People's Congress.
The exhibition hall of Wang Yuanxing's eldest son, Wang Ming (1941-2019), was also completed. Wang Ming is the son of the first generation of Returned Overseas Chinese in New China. He graduated from Tsinghua University, and then went into business in Hong Kong. He was the chairman of the Hong Kong Qixin group. In the early 1990s, he was invited by the local government to set up an enterprise in Ningbo. He contributed a lot to the "second hometown" and was awarded "Ningbo honorary citizen". Wang Mingsheng also served as vice president of the World Chess Federation, and made great achievements and efforts for Chinese chess, a sports and cultural treasure, to Asia and the world.
