The launching ceremony of China’s International Media Communication Activity, “Travelogue of China”, (hereinafter referred to as Travelogue of China) commenced at the Qingdao SCODA Pearl International Expo Center in Shandong Province on May 22.

Around 30 journalists from 18 countries in Asian-Pacific region and central Asia, including Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Indonesia, Thailand, and the Solomon Islands, participated in the event.

Travelogue of China, co-sponsored by China Public Diplomacy Association and Global Times Online, aims to tell vivid Chinese stories and spread the authentic image of China by inviting foreign media reporters to visit various provinces of China and learn about China’s historical and cultural inheritance as well as modern scientific and technological development.

At the launching ceremony, the most representative traditional Chinese culture and art such as Tai Chi calligraphy dance performance, face-changing performance of traditional Chinese Sichuan Opera and dance performance of Flying Apsaras in Dunhuang Murals were also displayed. The foreign media reporters at the scene showed great interest and kept taking pictures of these wonderful performances. At the end of the ceremony, a 3D holographic performance brought the atmosphere to a climax. With the help of the new technology, the magnificent “Panorama Qingdao”, people felt as if they were in the famous scenic spots of Qingdao, bringing a visual feast to everyone.

The group of “Travelogue of China” also visited CRRC Qingdao Sifang Co., LTD, Haier Group and the intangible cultural heritage exhibition. They not only witnessed the “speed” of China’s development in the new era, but also felt the extensive and profound “thickness” of Chinese culture.
